U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has awarded the airline 119 city
pair contracts for federal employee travel for the 2009 fiscal year. These
contracts have an estimated value of more than
$47 million, a nearly 30
percent increase over last year.
Last year, the GSA awarded AirTran Airways 118 city pairs for government
travel during the 2008 fiscal year, worth approximately $36 million. AirTran
Airways markets awarded the highest number of city pairs by the GSA include:
Atlanta at 43, Orlando at 14, Baltimore/Washington at 12, Ft. Lauderdale at 10
and Tampa at 9.
The GSA, an independent agency of the United States government, helps
