DENVER,
Feb. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Frontier Airlines Holdings, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: FRNTQ) today announced preliminary traffic results for
January 2009 for both Frontier’s mainline operation as well as its wholly-owned subsidiary, Lynx Aviation. Lynx commenced revenue service in
December 2007.
Mainline Results for January 2009:
- Revenue passenger miles decreased 16.0 percent to 632,946,000 and capacity (as measured by available seat miles) was down 13.3 percent to 901,369,000 from the same period last year. This resulted in a load factor of 70.2 percent, a decrease of 2.3 points over January 2008.
- The airline reported passenger yield of 10.44 cents, up 0.16 cents or 1.6 percent from January 2008.
- Passenger unit revenue decreased 1.7 percent to 7.33 cents.
- The airline carried 696,445 passengers, an 8.7 percent decrease from the same period last year.
- The airline’s average length of haul decreased 8.0 percent to 909 miles.
Lynx Aviation Results for January 2009:
- Lynx Aviation reported revenue passenger miles of 22,033,000 and available seat miles of 45,852,000. This resulted in a load factor for January 2009 of 48.1 percent.
- Lynx carried 64,472 passengers, with a passenger yield of 22.79 cents.
- Passenger revenue per available seat mile was 10.95 cents with an average length of haul of 342 miles in January 2009.
