COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.,
Feb. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Beginning today,
ExpressJet Airlines starts ticket sales from
Colorado Springs Airport for non-
stop service to: Los Angeles/Ontario,
San Diego and
Sacramento.
"We're pleased to welcome ExpressJet's new branded concept to Colorado
Springs," Mark Earle, Director of Aviation at the Colorado Springs Airport
said. "ExpressJet will offer our customers more non-stop travel options to the
West Coast, as well as upgraded service."
Jim Ream, ExpressJet President and CEO, stated the ExpressJet fleet of 50-
seat Embraer ERJ-145 aircraft are configured with no middle seat, assigning
every ExpressJet passenger a seat on the aisle, window, or both. ExpressJet
branded service will also offer an improved customer experience with valet
carry-on bag service and complimentary recognized name-brand snacks with full
meal service options available on longer flights.
"We thought Colorado Springs was the right market for ExpressJet because
we can provide value by saving our customers time and making travel more
convenient," Ream said. "Now, our customers will be able to relax on a non-
stop flight, in a comfortable leather seat with more than 100 channels of free
free XM(R) Satellite Radio."
With its entrance into the market, ExpressJet plans to hire about a dozen
employees locally, and invest approximately $525,000 in airport facilities and
equipment. Airport officials estimated that the new non-stop service options
will increase traffic by 7.4 percent annually, and will contribute to the
overall financial strength of the Colorado Springs Airport.
ExpressJet schedules and fares are available for sale through most
distribution channels for service originating from six markets: Los
Angeles/Ontario, Sacramento, San Diego, San Antonio, Austin and New Orleans,
