In the Defense and Government segment, Embraer announced another important contract for the sale of the Super Tucano in Latin America, in March -- this time, to Ecuador, which acquired 24 aircraft -- raising the total orders for this model to 169.

Embraer also announced the signing of two important long-term (ten-year) service contracts, in 1Q09, for the Pool replacement parts program. The first, with Petroecuador - Empresa Estatal Petroleos del Ecuador, was in support of the ERJ 145 jet operated by the Ecuadorean company, and the other came through Embraer Asia Pacific (EAP), a Company subsidiary in Singapore, with Japan Airlines (JAL), in support of the EMBRAER 170 jets operated by J-AIR, a wholly owned subsidiary of JAL.
