GREENWICH, Conn.,
Sept. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Megadata Corporation
(OTC Bulletin Board: MDTA) announced today that
Denver International Airport
(DEN) has contracted for the PASSUR(R) OPSnet(TM) system, which provides best-
of-breed protocols for the efficient and smooth management of an airport
during irregular events such as snow and ice, lightning, and construction - as
well as daily operational management. It includes an enhancement designed for
Denver operations to track snow and deicing resources to ensure airport
capacity is meeting demand.
"Coordination of resources during regular and irregular operations is key
to a successful operation, ensuring maximum performance and continuing
customer satisfaction," said John Kinney, deputy manager of aviation for
Airport Operations and Public Safety, adding the enhancement will allow DEN
"to be fully ready for the increased or decreased airport demand - ensuring
we're ready for every scenario."
"We believe best of breed protocols designed for instant implementation
for a range of contingencies shared with the entire airport community is
critical for smooth operational performance - and we're very pleased Denver
International Airport has joined the many airports and airlines who share our
vision," said Jim Barry, President and CEO of Megadata, which owns PASSUR.
PASSUR OPSnet is a secure web portal which uses an advanced PASSUR
information database to create instant communication and information sharing
with all key players of the airport community in real time, in a secure
environment, resulting in coordinated decision making, effective use of
resources, and consistent public information - from any Internet-connected PC.
It combines automated updates from the PASSUR radar-based database, with local
updates from all key users of the airport facility. It includes, among other
things, detailed field condition report templates, airline slot self-
management tools, weather, and PASSUR automated flight status information.
OPSnet has a proven return on investment, based on studies by Booz Allen
Hamilton and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
OPSnet is one part of the PASSUR CDM suite, which also includes PASSUR
Portal(TM), providing an instant, live snapshot of vital operational
information on a "web dashboard" of multiple information sets derived from the
one-of-a-kind PASSUR database, and tools for instant information sharing and
communication among all users. Denver also uses PASSUR Portal, PASSUR
Pulse(TM) for proactive landing fee management, and PASSUR visual flight
tracking and airspace status tools in their operations office.
