WASHINGTON,
Nov. 16 /PRNewswire/ --
Glenn Goodman, Jr. and
David Axe have
joined the staff of Defense Technology International (DTI) magazine, Publisher
Gregory D. Hamilton announced today.
DTI - which is published by AVIATION WEEK, a division of The McGraw-Hill
Companies - is the only media and information enterprise dedicated to covering
the interplay of defense technology, funding, operations, programs and
policies. The business, which launched in September 2005 as a bi-monthly
magazine, has quickly established itself with a worldwide readership of 38,000
military, government and defense industry decision-makers, defense
infrastructure opinion leaders and influencers.
The hirings are part of the magazine's 2007 accelerated growth strategy to
meet the growing worldwide demand for insight about the role technology plays
in the formulation and execution of global defense strategies.
Goodman, the magazine's new managing editor, has been a fixture on the
Beltway defense publishing circuit for more than two decades. Most recently,
he served as editor of C4ISR: The Journal of Net-Centric Warfare, and
concurrently as deputy editor of Armed Forces Journal International, where he
had worked since 1986.
Prior to becoming a journalist, Goodman worked in the defense industry as
a mission analyst and program planner for System Planning Corporation. His
assignments included the Strategic Defense Initiative Organization and the
Office of the Secretary of Defense. Goodman graduated from the United States
Military Academy with a B.S. in Engineering and later earned an M.A. in
Government from Webster University and a Ph.D. from Claremont Graduate School.
Axe is the magazine's new Military Editor. Prior to joining DTI, he spent
two years as a freelance military reporter and Iraq correspondent working for
C-SPAN, The Washington Times, Popular Science, Military.com and others. He is
the author of two books: "WAR FIX," a graphic novel memoir, and "ARMY 101," a
nonfiction account of Army ROTC.
"Glenn Goodman and David Axe bring tremendous experience, insight and
enterprise to the DTI team," said Hamilton. "We are proud to add their
capabilities to our growing portfolio of information products and services for
the global defense technology community, and look forward to their
contributions and leadership."
