Copa Holdings Announces Monthly Traffic Statistics for January 2010

PANAMA CITY, Feb. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Copa Holdings, S.A. (NYSE: CPA), and its Copa Airlines and Aero Republica operating subsidiaries, today released preliminary passenger traffic statistics for January 2010:

1. Available seat miles - represents the aircraft seating capacity multiplied by the number of miles the seats are flown.

2. Revenue passenger miles - represents the numbers of miles flown by revenue passengers.

3. Load factor - represents the percentage of aircraft seating capacity that is actually utilized.

For the month of January 2010, Copa Holdings' system-wide passenger traffic (RPM) increased 8.1%, while capacity (ASM) increased 3.3%. System load factor for January 2010 was 81.5%, a 3.6 percentage point increase when compared to January 2009.

Copa Airlines passenger traffic (RPM) for January 2010 increased 6.6%, while capacity (ASM) increased 2.7%. This resulted in a load factor of 82.5%, a 3.1 percentage point increase when compared to January 2009.

Aero Republica passenger traffic (RPM) for January 2010 increased 16.7%, while capacity (ASM) increased 6.5%. Load factor for the month reached 76.3%, a 6.7 percentage point increase when compared to January 2009.
