Cape Air Launches New Non-Stop Air Service Between Albany and the Upstate New York Cities of Watertown, Massena and Ogdensburg

HYANNIS, Mass., Sept. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Albany, New York is the newest hub for Cape Air, the New England based regional airline, now offering three daily non-stop flights between the state capital and the three communities of Massena, Ogdensburg and Watertown. "All of us at Cape Air are excited to introduce non-stop, convenient and affordable air service to upstate New York and southern Ontario," said Cape Air President Dan Wolf. "With Albany International Airport's direct air service to over a dozen cities Cape Air can provide easy access to the national air transportation network for Massena, Ogdensburg, Watertown and surrounding communities including Kingston, Brockville and Cornwall. We are also looking forward to introducing Cape Air's MOCHA HAGoTDI* brand of service to the area."

Cape Air's service officially starts on September 16 with three daily round-trips including an early morning departure from each of the three cities and low air fares starting at $49 each way.

"Dependable air service and connectivity through Albany are essential if New York's businesses are to develop and prosper," said David E. Langdon, chairman of the Albany County Airport Authority. "Cape Air's commitment to quality service will ensure our business and leisure travelers will have vital and timely access to and from our north country."

Jefferson County Administrator, Robert Hagemann, spokesperson for the Watertown International Airport, says, "Residents of the County and the entire Thousand Islands region have been eagerly awaiting Cape Air's arrival and new non-stop service to Albany. While, admittedly, a long time coming, coupled with the newly renovated Airport Terminal Building, traveling Cape Air promises to be a most enjoyable experience. Equally exciting will be the low fares that will make our airport a great choice for convenient and inexpensive travel to Albany and beyond."

Massena's Town Supervisor, Gary Edwards said, "With the recent activation of Cape Air in Massena the Town of Massena and the entire North Country is awaiting the start-up on September 16th when we will again be reunited with the rest of the world."

Wade A. Davis, Executive Director of the Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority said, "The importance of Essential Air Service (EAS) to the North Country for economic development and recreational purposes cannot be understated. The Authority is extremely pleased by the resumption of EAS scheduled for September 16th. Cape Air's non-stop service to Albany will no doubt improve on our regional, cross-border and international air links."
