FORT WORTH, Texas,
April 1, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American
Airlines Cargo Division (AA Cargo) announced today the launch of new
functionality via its AACargo.com Web site that provides online access to
import status details from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (U.S. CBP).
The tool offers a new layer of transparency and a streamlined information
process for customs brokers and freight forwarders -- allowing these customers
to view "clearance," "hold" and other import status messages in real time. The
new AACargo.com functionality is available immediately for all U.S. import
shipments.
This new U.S. Customs functionality is the latest addition to AA Cargo's
portfolio of online productivity tools designed to save customers time and
money by reducing transactional costs and other expenses. With the new
functionality, customers are one click away from seeing their shipment as it
clears U.S. customs.
"The roll-out of this new tool serving U.S. Customs brokers and our
worldwide community of shippers represents the future of customs messaging,
and the benefits will be immediately felt," said Spencer Dickinson, Vice
President - Cargo Finance and E-Commerce. "The new functionality will
streamline information flow and provide faster and more accurate updates to
our customers."
