AirTran U Teaches a Lesson: Free Flights Save Money

ORLANDO, Fla., March 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AAI), announced today that AirTran U, the airline's standby program for travelers between the ages of 18 and 22, is offering a lucky winner two free* roundtrip flights per quarter until their 23rd birthday with the Fly Free* Till You're 23 sweepstakes. Entries will be taken at http://www.airtranu.com until June 9, 2008. The winner will be chosen through a random drawing on or about June 12, 2008.

"At AirTran Airways, we know that when you're college age, it can be a struggle to make ends meet," said Tad Hutcheson, vice president of marketing and sales for AirTran Airways. "By offering free* flights to one lucky winner, AirTran Airways is giving someone the freedom to move around the country without overspending. With the money saved, they can have a great time and still pay for rent, tuition or other essentials."

In order to be eligible for the Fly Free* Till You're 23 sweepstakes, entrants must provide their AirTran Airways A+ Rewards number. A+ Rewards is the airline's frequent flier program. Registration for the program is free. Each quarter, AirTran Airways will deposit 32 A+ Rewards credits (equaling two roundtrip flights) into the winner's A+ Rewards account. If the winner is 18 years old at time of entry, he or she will receive the final quarterly prize in January 2013.

AirTran U's regular curriculum is simple: Travelers aged 18-22 can arrive at any AirTran Airways ticket counter and purchase a coach standby seat for $69-$89 per flight**. By enrolling in A+ Rewards, passengers can earn a half A+ Rewards credit for each segment -- defined as one takeoff and one landing -- when they fly through the AirTran U program. Eight A+ Rewards credits can be redeemed for a one-way AirTran Airways flight.

AirTran Airways, a Fortune 1000 company, offers more than 700 affordable, daily flights to 58 U.S. destinations. With 8,900 friendly Crew Members and America's youngest all-Boeing fleet, AirTran Airways provides XM Satellite Radio and Business Class seating on every flight. For more information and free online booking, visit http://www.airtran.com.

*NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. Void where prohibited or restricted by Law. Grand Prize winner will receive 2 roundtrip flights per quarter awarded as (32) thirty-two AirTran Airways A+ Rewards credits in their A+ Rewards account posted quarterly as follows: July 2008 and October 2008, and in subsequent years up until the winner turns 23 years of age. If the winner is 18 years old at time of entry, he or she will receive the final quarterly prize in January 2013. Sweepstakes ends at Midnight EDT on 6/9/08.
