AirTran Pilots Applaud Record Profit

Profit Proves Value of Safety and Efficiency

ATLANTA, April 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Pilots Association thanks AirTran management for acknowledging the role our members played in lifting the company to a record 1st quarter profit. The pilots look forward to continued contract talks in the new environment.

"Our pilots deserve recognition for running a safe and efficient operation," says Acting NPA President Linden Hillman. "If not for the efforts of our members and our co-workers, AirTran would not be in a position of strength today."

"Our pilots are among the hardest working and lowest cost in the industry" Hillman said. "Yet four years into talks, we're still working toward an equitable agreement."

The NPA and AirTran have been in mediated contract negotiations since September, 2005.
