A Whole New Way to Buy and Fly on Frontier Airlines

AirFairs puts the travel experience in the customer’s hands

DENVER, Dec. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Frontier Airlines today gave the flying public FAIR warning. “We’re changing the way you buy and fly,” said Sean Menke, Frontier President and CEO.

The Denver-based carrier today announced the launch of AirFairs, Frontier’s new fare structure that lets the customer choose the fare level that best meets their specific travel needs. AirFairs offers a choice of three different fare levels: Classic Plus, Classic or Economy, with varying levels of niceties.

“Our customers have spoken and we listened,” said Menke. “AirFairs brings choice and fairness back to the travel experience. The customer is now the driver of their individual travel experience. Our three fare levels give our customers the flexibility they have told us they want to arrange their travel to fit their specific budget and comfort needs.”

  • Classic Plus is the ultimate. The Classic Plus ticket is fully refundable, changeable, and provides the customer the ability to confirm a seat on a different flight the same day of travel for no charge. In addition, Classic Plus customers get priority boarding, two checked bags, complimentary DIRECTV®, an in-flight snack and a premium beverage. Classic Plus customers also receive a 150% mileage credit in EarlyReturns®, the company’s customer loyalty program.

  • Classic offers the important comforts for the best overall value. For as little as $20 more than an Economy fare the Classic customer gets advanced seat assignments, two complimentary checked bags and DIRECTV®, and 125% EarlyReturns® mileage credit. In addition, they will be charged only a $50 fee for itinerary changes and $75 for same day confirmed changes.

  • Economy is the basic ticket to ride. The Economy ticket is for the customer who is traveling light and doesn’t foresee any schedule changes. The Economy ticket is our guaranteed lowest fare.

Frontier’s redesigned website FrontierAirlines.com will make it easy for customers to determine which fare - Classic Plus, Classic, or Economy - is the right fit for their travel needs. The site includes an introductory tutorial and conveniently displays the attributes of each fare level to make booking a breeze.

Frontier’s EarlyReturns® Ascent and Summit members will receive some added benefits with AirFairs as well.

  • No matter what fare-type an Ascent or Summit member purchases, the benefits tied to their membership level will always override the attributes of the fare.
  • Members who purchase a Classic Plus or Classic fare have the ability to accumulate up to 200 percent EarlyReturns miles.
  • Anyone redeeming an EarlyReturns award ticket, on or after December 18, 2008, will automatically receive an upgraded Classic fare, which will include two checked bags and complimentary DIRECTV®.
  • Beginning January 1, 2009, Summit companions traveling on the same itinerary will also receive two complimentary checked bags and the same waived fee benefits as the Summit member.
  • To better serve our loyal flyers Frontier is eliminating the $25 redemption fee and $75 expedite fee for award redemptions booked on or after December 15, 2008.

During the initial rollout of AirFairs, a few select groups will not use the AirFairs booking tool to book their travel with Frontier. The following customer groups will notice no difference in their Frontier booking experience on FrontierAirlines.com or through Frontier Reservations.

  • International travelers
  • EarlyReturns members booking award travel
  • Unaccompanied minors
  • Customers flying to multiple cities in one trip
  • Anyone using a Frontier Airlines gift card as the form of payment.
  • Frontier’s Business Travel Partners and large corporate bookings
