Apple Vacations Super Sale to 'The New Caribbean'

PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- At the Baltimore Sun Travel & Golf Expo, Apple Vacations kicked off a travel agent educational program and consumer advertising campaign featuring La Romana, one of the Dominican Republic's most upscale vacation destinations and an established resort area featuring some of the island's best golf, shopping, and nightlife.

More than 6,500 prospective travelers visited Apple Vacations' booth at the Baltimore Convention Center to learn about the tour operator's vacation packages to Mexico, the Caribbean, Europe and Hawaii, and to visit with representatives from the Dominican Republic Tourist Board and Sunscape Casa del Mar Resort, La Romana. At the Expo, Apple Vacations introduced "Super Sale", an annual promotion featuring the best prices of the season, with all inclusive vacation packages to Sunscape Casa del Mar starting at just $959.99 per adult for 7 nights including round trip airfare from Baltimore, resort accommodations, transfers, and all meals, drinks, tips and entertainment. Participants at the Expo were able to book their vacations while at the booth.

La Romana is located on the southeastern coast of the Dominican Republic, and has been a refuge for the rich and famous for decades. Some of the island's best beaches are here at the edge of the Caribbean Sea, where powdery white sand and leaning palms meld into coves of coral, making snorkeling possible right from the shore. Golfers can play at one of four ranked championship 18-hole courses, including "Teeth of the Dog" at the resort area of Casa de Campo, host to kings, presidents, and other dignitaries. At the spectacular artists enclave of Altos de Chavon, a replica of a 16th century Mediterranean village, visitors can wander cobblestone paths revealing unique shopping, local handicrafts, art galleries, restaurants and sidewalk cafes. The nighttime performances at the 5,000 seat outdoor ampitheatre offer a romantic setting under the stars.

Apple Vacations offers daily flights to La Romana on scheduled air carriers, as well as nonstop charter flights from Baltimore on Saturdays via USA3000 Airlines, voted one of the top 5 airlines in the U.S. by readers of Conde Nast. Sunscape Casa del Mar La Romana, just 20 minutes from the airport, is the perfect choice for vacationers looking for a variety of activities and entertainment. The resort recently completed renovations and now offers almost 1,000 guest rooms, eight restaurants, an unparalleled Spa experience, and one of the best kids programs in the Dominican Republic. All-inclusive packages during Super Sale start at $95999 per adult. Visit http://www.applevacations.com for more Super Sale deals.

Apple Vacations is the country's leading tour operator to the Dominican Republic, and proudly delivered its one-millionth customer to the destination last year. This winter, Apple Vacations will operate over 175 charter flights weekly from cities nationwide to over 40 beach destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean. The readers of Recommend Magazine recently honored Apple Vacations as the "Best Tour Operator to the Caribbean" in 2006.
