Leading Jet Engine Manufacturer Opts for Pacelab Software

ATLANTA, Aug. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- GE Aviation, a leading manufacturer of civil and military jet engines, will equip its development and technical marketing teams with software solutions from Berlin-based IT provider PACE. The package includes PACE's commercial off-the-shelf applications for multidisciplinary design, cabin configuration and performance analysis as well as additional customization, consulting and training services.

According to Steve Csonka, Manager of Advanced Applications in GE's preliminary design section, "GE looks forward to working with PACE and Pacelab software as we continue to improve our analytical capability for aircraft systems evaluations, including conceptualization, optimization, and performance analysis."

Pacelab engineering tools streamline key business activities and are widely used by aircraft and engine manufacturers around the world. The design platform Pacelab Suite supports the setup and evaluation of alternative concepts in the early phases of the product development process. GE Aviation has also expressed interest in evaluating PACE's soon-to-be-released software for aircraft preliminary design which builds on Pacelab Suite's functional core.

GE Aviation's software package also contains the performance suite Pacelab Mission/SCAP, which supports the assessment of airframe and engine performance, flight profile optimization and the calculation of runway-specific regulated take-off and landing weights, and the aircraft cabin configurator Pacelab Cabin.
