A New Dimension to Detroit Motor Sports; Tickets on Sale Now for The Red Bull Air Race World Series

DETROIT, May 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The world's top acrobatic pilots will soon be roaring over the Detroit River when they compete in the 2008 International Red Bull Air Race World Series. During this stunt-filled competition, which will be held in the Motor City on May 31st and June 1st, spectators along the riverfront will have the opportunity to watch low-flying pilots race through inflatable 'air gate' obstacles at speeds reaching 250 mph.

While this international event will touch down in 10 cities worldwide in 2008, this marks the first time that the Series will appear in Detroit, which will be one of only two North American cities to host the competition (San Diego is the other). This also marks the first time that the Series will be performed on an international border, making history for the Red Bull Air Race and both the cities of Detroit and Windsor.

ATTITUDE IN THE AIR

Individual spectator tickets are being offered pre-sales, at $15 for the qualifying day (May 31st) and $25 for the race day (June 1st), with special discounts for children and discounts with the purchase of a 2-day package. On either day, spectators can choose from one of 6 spectator zones located along the Detroit and Windsor sides of the river.

In addition to selling individual spectator tickets, Detroit Air Racing is also offering various hospitality packages ranging from $150 to $930 for the Red Bull Air Race. Among the three hospitality setting are the High Flyer's Lounges,' 'Business Class Race Club,' and 'The Race Club.' The various packages are designed to accommodate all types of groups, ranging from exclusive parties to simple gatherings with family and friends. The prices and specific benefits of each setting differ, but in general they include open buffets, complimentary drinks, front-row views of the race and souvenirs.
