NEW YORK,
May 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American Airlines is now

New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and
London's Stansted and
Heathrow airports. The offer applies to trips booked between now and

"We are happy to extend this AAdvantage bonus offer to our present
customers who fly from JFK to both Stansted and Heathrow and to new customers,
as well," said Chuck Imhof, American's Vice President - Sales for Greater New
York. "I am delighted that we now offer customers the option of five daily
flights from New York to Heathrow, plus one to Stansted. We began flying
JFK-Stansted last October in response to demand from our corporate customers."
As part of the "Open Skies" agreement between the United States and the
European Union, American is focusing U.S.-London flights on Stansted and
Heathrow airports. Stansted is a favored airport for travelers whose business
takes them to the Canary Wharf or City financial districts of London -- or for
leisure travelers who want to enjoy the attractions of trendy East London or
the delights of Cambridge and the nearby countryside. American currently
operates 18 daily flights from the United States to London's Heathrow airport,
five of which depart from JFK, and the others from Boston, Dallas/Fort Worth,
Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles, and Raleigh/Durham.
American also flies direct from JFK to Brussels, Zurich, Rome and Paris
and recently inaugurated nonstop service to Barcelona and Milan.
American, a founding member of the global oneworld(R) Alliance, and
American Eagle, combine to carry more than 16 million passengers each year to
and from four New York-area airports (John F. Kennedy, LaGuardia, Newark, and
White Plains/Westchester County) on more than 180,000 flights.
