Frontier Airlines Reports Preliminary Traffic for December 2007

DENVER, Jan. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT) today announced preliminary traffic results for December 2007. Revenue passenger miles increased 31.7 percent to 798,754,000 for December 2007 from the same period last year. Available seat miles increased 23.6 percent to 1,099,556,000 for December 2007 from the same period last year. This resulted in a load factor for December 2007 of 72.6 percent, an increase of 4.4 points from December 2006, when the airline reported a load factor of 68.2 percent. The airline carried 808,765 passengers during December 2007, a 26.5 percent increase from December 2006. The airline reported passenger yield of 11.55 cents for the month of December 2007, an increase of 1.5 percent from the same period last year. Its passenger revenue per available seat mile was 8.39 cents, up .63 or 8.1 percent from December 2006. For the month of December 2007, the airline's average length of haul increased 4.1 percent to 988 miles as compared to the same period last year.

"We are further revising the guidance we provided at the beginning of December because of higher than expected operating expenses related to the winter storms at our Denver hub and throughout the Midwest in late December," said Sean Menke, Frontier President and CEO. "In addition, we experienced weaker-than-expected performance in some sun destination markets, many of which will be eliminated by January 10, 2008. As a result, we now anticipate a pre-tax loss for the December quarter in the range of $.78 - $.88 cents per share excluding special items."

The following table represents comparisons for the month of December year-over-year, calendar 2007 year-over-year, fiscal 2008 year-over-year, and the quarter ended December 31, 2007 year-over-year traffic results.
