Now that the FAA is completing the foundational aspects of NextGen, the agency is working with the aviation industry to deploy more immediate benefits and capabilities produced by Air Traffic Management modernization for commercial and charter airlines and the flying public.
Avionics for NextGen 2015 will bring together key industry stakeholders, including airlines, pilots, air traffic controllers and avionics manufacturers, to discuss their experiences, challenges and solutions with the implementation of these new technologies.
Senior Program Manager, Air Traffic Management
Chris Sutherland is a Senior Program Manager for Air Traffic Management with the Harris Corporation. He currently is leading the Avionics Equipage Initiative and Industry Outreach for the DCIS (DataComm) program. Prior to his work with Harris Corporation, Mr. Sutherland worked for the FAA as an Air Traffic Controller having spent 6 years at the Potomac Consolidated TRACON and over 20 years at the Washington Air Route Traffic Control Center. Mr. Sutherland is also a commercial rated pilot.
