A U.K. charter operator has lined up to become the first to put PZL Swidnik’s SW4 on that nation’s civil registry.
Newly relocated to Biggin Hill Airport in Westerham, Kent, southeast of London, Skycharter UK Ltd unveiled the first U.K. order for the Polish manufacturer’s single-engine turbine helicopter. It plans to start off with three SW4s. The order coincided with Swidnik’s appointment of Skycharter as its dealer in the United Kingdom.
"We’ve long needed a high-performance, single-turbine, five-seater helicopter to support and partially replace our current fleet of Bell 206 JetRangers and LongRangers," said Skycharter Managing Director Gary Slater.
The first aircraft is to be delivered by the end of the year. Skycharter plans to place the three aircraft on its own air operator’s certificate. Swidnik says that the Skycharter order brings SW4 sales to six; it has sold single aircraft in China, South Korea and Ukraine.
