Turbomeca Opens Technical Support Center in China

Maintenance for Chinese operators of Arrius, Arriel and Makila engines just got easier, as Turbomeca has inaugurated its Technical Support Center in Tianjin. Representatives from Tianjin’s municipal and government operators joined with the Safran subsidiary to open the facility on September 5. Turbomeca will offer technical support for all operators in China, as well as maintenance on government and police fleets covering the Arrius 2, Arriel 2 and Makila versions 1 and 2.

In a separate development, Turbomeca has inked a 15-year, €75-million ($99-million) agreement with Zodiac Hydraulics involving hydro-mechanical equipment related to turboshaft engine control systems. According to Turbomeca, the agreement will lead to benefits for the Arrano, its new engine unveiled earlier this year at Heli-Expo. Zodiac Hydraulics is a subsidiary of France-based Zodiac Aerospace’s Aircraft Systems branch.
