MOONEY M20F N3549N A/c made forced landing and collided with trees. Pilot was flying around for an hour before began "buzzing" his house. One serious Made a series of sharp banks, and engine lost power. Made forced landing on road, and during roll out a/c collided with a tree.

ENGLE DAVID TWO PLACE N9259F A/c collided with power lines during climb out near Manlius. Two serious Witness said watched a/c pick up speed down the strip, but felt it could not clear trees at end of strip due to the elevation. Pilot pulled up and banked a/c and at same time a/c dropped from sight into trees.

PIPER PA-32R-30071MC Piper operated by private pilot, and Eurocopter helicopter operated by Liberty Helicopters substantially damaged following midair collision over Hudson River. Nine fatalities Radar data and witness statements indicate that the a/c collided at 1,100 feet in vicinity of Stevens Point. Most of wreckage fell into Hudson River. Some small debris from airplane including right main landing gear wheel fell on land within city limits of Hoboken.

August 13, 2009 Lancaster, CA EUROCOPTER AS 350 B2 N217LA A/c landed hard following practice 180-degree autorotation at William J. Fox Field (WJF), Los Angeles Police Department - Air Support Division, operated a/c as a public-use proficiency flight. Prior to accident, flying pilot had completed several practice autorotations without incident. Three serious On accident maneuver, after completing first 90-degree turn, check pilot observed that a/c was not going to make iintended landing spot. Advised flying pilot was reapplying power to execute go-around. However, a/c had reportedly established high sink rate, which pilots unable to arrest prior to a/c impacting ground.

PIPER PA-24 N6304P A/c lost directional control during takeoff and impacted terrain 450 yards N of approach end of runway 30 at Ernest A. Love Field Airport (PRC). Witnesses reported that a/c was no more than 150-200 feet agl and did not appear to be gaining altitude. Two fatalities Said a/c was "slow," with a high-angle of attack, and at times porpoising in the air. About the intersection of runways 21L and 30, a/c observed in shallow left bank that continued to increase before impacting the ground and bursting into flames.

AIR TRACTOR AT-802N807MA A/c with Bureau of Land Management (BLM) designation T-857 collided with rising terrain during attempted fire retardant drop at Hoyt fire, near Austin, NV. Witnesses observed a/c approach designated drop area from S. A/c approached drop area, but did not release load of retardant. One fatality Shortly thereafter, a/c made contact with rising terrain within the saddle area. A/c continued uphill, while still in contact with the ground, towards a crest where terrain dropped away. A/c then departed end of crest, descended, and collided with terrain in valley area below.

BROWN STEEN SKYBOLT N14BB A/c destroyed by collision with terrain near Harrison. Two fatalities Pilot/passenger sustained fatal injuries. Local flight had departed Cincinnati West Airport (I67) just prior to the accident.
August 21, 2009 Launceton, Tasmania, Australia BOEING 737-800VH-VOC Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) said Virgin Blue Boeing 737-800 experienced two compressor surges in left engine, a CFMI CFM56-7, shortly after takeoff from Launceton (LST). No injuries Pilots reduced left engine's thrust to idle and returned to LST without further incident. Subsequent borescope inspection of engine revealed damage to high pressure compressor. Engine was replaced.
August 21, 2009 Teterboro, NJ RAYTHEON AIRCRAFT 58 N167TB A/c operated by Quest Diagnostics was destroyed after collision with terrain and post crash fire during aborted landing at Teterboro Airport (TEB). Two serious Witnesses said a/c flew length of runway at low altitude before overshot departure end, departed airport property, struck a sign and a tree, and burst into flames.

ROBINSON R44 N19DV A/c collided with terrain near Tonopah. Dooley Aviation was operating the helicopter. One of passengers said Raven was providing aerial surveillance of car that was in an off-road race. Three serious He recalled a/c being in a bank, and hearing a warning horn. A/c descended rapidly into uneven terrain, touched down on the skids, but turned as it went downhill, and rolled over.

BROWN JOSEPH B JR RV-6 N352JB A/c substantially damaged when impacted tree during takeoff roll at St. Charles Airport (LS40). Two fatalities Pilot had just recently purchased a/c was anxious about flying it and elected to hire flight instructor for familiarization. According to local law enforcement, a/c impacted tree head on.

ANTARES US MA-34R N2356W A/c struck two parked a/c following start-up at Reid Hillview Airport (RHV). One serious Student pilot said had just completed a lesson. During engine start-up, the airplane's engine went to full throttle. A/c lurched forward, and struck two parked a/c.

Two fatalities Witness said a/c was flying from N to S over airport. While maneuvering for landing, a/c entered a "hard left bank at low altitude and went into the ground."

No injuries Pilot said that rather than attempt a banking turn that might be too steep, which could result in a stall, elected to land on interstate highway. Airbus A320 An Air Asia a/c carrying 148 passengers made emergency landing at Macau International (MIA). Flight AK50 began smoothly when set off from Kuala Lumpur, It was only when A320 aircraft flying into Macao that warning light was set off, signalling aircraft's emergency door was open. No injuries Air Asia later confirmed that warning light was falsely activated and emergency door of a/c had been securely locked when a/c was airborne.

unavailable American Airlines flight en route to Miami made an emergency landing in Dominican Republic.More than 100 passengers aboard Flight 680 placed on other flights. No injuries Mechanical failure forced open a compartment in fuselage and created a loud vibration. A/c departed the Dominican Republic at 10:30am and returned 30 minutes later.

Robinson R44 One FAA safety inspector was killed and another injured when their R44crashed into an unoccupied house. One fatality, one serious A/c crashed into duplex-style house about half a mile east of Hawkins Field. The two people on a/c were from FAA's Flight Standards District Office in Jackson.

Bell 430 Indian minister of south Indian state and four others died in helicopter crash. Chopper carrying Y.S.R. Reddy, chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, went off radar while flying over the state. Also onboard were Reddy's principal secretary and chief security officer as well as two pilots. Five fatalities Twin-engine Bell 430 went missing after it took off from Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad city and headed to Chittoor district, both in Andhra Pradesh.

Boeing 747 Qantas Boeing 747, damaged last year in midair explosion and then a tarmac collision was diverted during flight from Singapore to Australia because of a fuel leak. The a/c carrying 290 passengers, landed in Perth using three of its four engines after the fuel leak was detected four hours out of Singapore. No injuries Same a/c lost cabin pressure when an oxygen cylinder exploded, tearing a gaping hole in fuselage and damaging navigational instruments in July 2008 during flight from London to Melbourne. Safely landed in Manila without injury to passengers or crew, was repaired and returned to service.

unavail JetBlue Flight 1781 from Orlando International to Nassau landed with fire reported on the left side of a/c near the engine. No injuries The 89 passengers and four crew members evacuated the a/c using evacuation slides. Airport officials extinguished the flames.

Boeing 767-300 All Nippon Airways (ANA) Boeing 767-300 made emergency landing at Tokyo's Haneda airport on Sept. 3 after cabin air pressure dropped, but no one was injured. No injuries Flight 584, carrying 265 passengers and crew, was en route from the southwestern Japanese city of Matsuyama to Tokyo when the pressure dropped temporarily and oxygen masks dropped from overhead compartments.
