Principal Systems Engineer, Rockwell Collins
Dan is a principal systems engineer in the Rockwell Collins Commercial Systems – Advanced Radar Applications group. Dan joined Rockwell Collins in October 1980 and has since spearheaded advanced technology in many areas of avionics, including Airborne Radar. Dan is the inventor of the WXR-2100 MultiScan Automatic Hazard Detection Radar System, which has revolutionized radar operation in the airline industry. MultiScan is the core technology that provides fully automatic detection of weather hazards over all flight phases and geographic regions with a clutter free display. MultiScan technology is being extended across the entire Rockwell Collins Weather Radar Product family. Dan has been granted 25 patents from the United States Patent Office for his innovative work and has a large portfolio still in process.
Dan was selected as the Rockwell International Corporate Engineer of the Year in 1984, Rockwell Collins Corporate Engineer of the Year in 2002 and as the Rockwell Collins Corporate Inventor of the Year in 2003. Dan has a BSEET from Missouri Institute of Technology in Kansas City.
