U.K. Expected to Reduce Lynx Order

Pursuant to an overall effort to tighten the government’s military budget, the U.K. is expected to announce deep cuts in military spending, including a relatively small reduction in an order for the AgustaWestland Lynx. The initial order, placed in 2006 for 70 of the twin-engine utility aircraft, will be reduced to 64, according to sources inside of the Ministry of Defence. Other cuts, which MoD confirms will be officially announced on Dec. 11, include warships and armored personnel vehicles. For related news
