Indian Air Force Drops RFP

Both Boeing and Bell dropped out of the running early (before the original request for proposal (RFP) was floated), Boeing because of time constraints and Bell because it only sells through the U.S. government and India wanted to buy direct from the manufacturer. Now the bidding for the 22 attack helicopters is finished. The RFP was cancelled after Kamov, EADS and AgustaWestland, "...could not meet the qualitative requirements," according to the India's Ministry of Defence. Also according to the Ministry, a new RFP will be forthcoming. The contract would be worth nearly $550 million. For related news
