FAA Certifies Honeywell Helicopter EGPWS

The Federal Aviation Administration has issued technical design and production approval for Honeywell’s enhanced ground proximity warning system (EGPWS) for helicopters. The agency recently published certification standards for helicopter terrain awareness and warning systems (HTAWS), and the Mark XXI and XXII EGPWS series becomes the first to meet the new standards, according to Phoenix-based Honeywell.
