URS, Ahlers Approved for Bell 412 NVG

The Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) has issued CAR 35 approval for United Rotorcraft Solutions and Ahlers Aerospace night vision lighting modifications on the Bell 412. URS President David Brigham took a trip to Australia in June to install NVG filters on two Australian Helicopters Bell 412s and work with CASA to gain approval. Brigham says the modifications provide better readability in daylight and “also makes identifying color range marking easier than ever before in both day and night use.” URS and Ahlers’ efforts to obtain FAA approval for the lighting mods are ongoing.
