ST Aerospace to Provide MRO for RAFO C130s

Singapore Technologies (ST Aerospace) has signed a contract to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul services (MRO) for the Royal Air Force of Oman’s (RAFO) fleet of C130 Hercules aircraft.

The contract calls for a modernization of the C130 cockpit, including a new glass cockpit, digital flight control system and flight management system that is global air traffic management (GATM) compliant. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) introduced GATM standards in 2005 with the goal of establishing an integrated global air traffic management system.

“We selected ST Aerospace because it is a one stop center for the C130 Hercules aircraft and has extensive capabilities on this aircraft platform. Its ability to undertake depot level maintenance and cockpit modernisation simultaneously is especially advantageous to us, as it minimizes down time and improves aircraft availability of our fleet,” said Matar Ali Al-Obaidani, air vice marshal for RAFO. More
