Esterline Wins F-35 Materials Contract

Esterline Corp., Bellevue, Wash., was awarded a $190 million contract from Lockheed Martin to supply sealing and “low observable” products for the F-35 Lightning II multirole fighter.

Two Esterline Engineered Materials locations – Kirkhill Elastomers in Brea, Calif., and TA Aerospace in Valencia, Calif. – will participate in the contract. They provide a range of sealing, clamping, thermal and fire barrier protection and low observable technology used in the aerospace industry.

Esterline also supplies the F-35 with technical solutions ranging from specialized sensors and systems to avionics and controls. The company’s dollar content per aircraft exceeds $800,000.
