Vladivostok Air Signs Engine MRO Agreement With AFI
Russian carrier Vladivostok Air signed a long term maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) contract with AirFrance Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) to support its fleet of Airbus A320 engines.
The new agreement is in addition to a 2009 contract where AFI KLM E&M agreed to provide support for the airline’s fleet of A330s. The additional contract requires a one-off intervention with AFI KLM E&M carrying out engine repairs at Vladivostok’s workshop in Siberia.
"This was a real challenge, notably from the logisticsangle," said Sergiy Kovalchuck, sales manager for AFI KLM E&M’s Northern and Eastern Europe business units."Above and beyond our engine shops in Paris and Amsterdam, our ability to export our expertise to Siberia is further proof of our adaptiveness. That is what convinced Vladivostok Air to sign with AFI KLM E&M again."
