Van Horn Offers Composite Bell 206 Blade
Tempe, Ariz.-based Van Horn Aviation (VHA) has introduced an aftermarket tail rotor blade for the Bell 206 light utility helicopter. The company says the all-composite replacement blade provides a 40 percent reduction in noise, 15 percent less centrifugal force and a 5,000-hour lifespan. Features include a carbon fiber skin, titanium root fitting and stainless steel spheres in the pitch changes bearings. VHA obtained a supplemental type certificate (STC) for the blade installation in August and parts manufacturer approval (PMA) earlier in September.
