ST Aerospace Starts Hangar Expansion in Singapore
Singapore Technologies Aerospace (ST Aerospace) began construction on an $11 million hangar expansion at its Changi Airport facility in Singapore on Monday.
The commercial airframe MRO provider said the new hangar will support its focus on extending its services to wide-body and narrow-body aircraft, as carriers in the area continue to expand their fleets with more fuel-efficient planes.
“Changi Airport is an important air hub with excellent connectivity. Our new hangar in Changi will enable us to offer better support to our key customers who operate in Changi Airport. It will also provide us with additional capacity for growth, riding on the back of strong air traffic growth in the Asia Pacific region and the rising trend of maintenance outsourcing,” said Chang Cheow Teck, president of ST Aerospace.
The new hangar is expected to be completed by the third quarter 2013.
