[Aviation Today April 8, 2014] Swiss Aviation Training (SAT) is introducing the latest version of the Virtual Maintenance Trainer (VMT) for the Airbus
A320 to its training program for aircraft maintenance technicians.
The Swiss company is an Approved Training Organization (ATO) under the European Aviation Safety Authority (EASA), and claims to be the only one currently offering its customers the latest version of the VMT for the A320.
The main upgrade for the new VMT is the replacement of the desktop version with a laptop solution that presents a 360-degree view of the aircraft with three-dimensional representations of individual components.
SAT compares the VMT to a "Windows-like" user interface with a more realistic simulation of the aircraft maintenance environment.
