KC-10 Decision to Affect Boeing Workers
The future of 200 workers who currently support the U.S. Air Force KC-10 refueling aircraft at Boeing’s facility in San Antonio is uncertain. The Air Force awarded a nine-year deal to Northrop Grumman for future KC-10 support, and Boeing’s existing contract runs out in January. Boeing spokesperson Deborah VanNierop notes that the Air Force decision was “disappointing” for the company. She adds that Boeing has supported the KC-10 program since 1998.
