EASA Mandates S-92 Fault Checks

Reinforcing an issue Sikorsky identified earlier this month, the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has published an airworthiness directive (AD) regarding more frequent checks for cracking along the section of the S-92 that attaches the gearbox to the helicopter. Europe’s air safety agency is requiring inspections every day or after 10 flight hours.
