Barfield Opens Colombia MRO Subsidiary

Sabena Technics subsidiary Barfield opened a new aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul facility in Bogotá, Colombia, on Tuesday.

Barfield said the new facility will focus on avionics testing and repair, eventually expanding its capabilities to support a larger range of aircraft components. The company did not say what aircraft the facility will specifically be supporting.

Barfield CEO Frederic Denise said the new facility will provide similar services to the Barfield shops located in Phoenix and Louisville, Ky.

“The opening of Barfield’s third subsidiary in Colombia highlights our group’s ambition to further develop customer proximity, allowing us to offer nose-to-tail services that match our customers’ needs and expectations,” said Rodolphe Marchais, CEO of Sabena Technics. More
