Report: American Owes KC $23.55 Mil

American Airlines is expected to pay $23.55 million to the Kansas City Aviation Department for rent on the remaining 20 years of a lease at Kansas City Intl Airport (MCO). The airline announced in late October the planned closing of the overhaul base, which employs around 500 workers. KC Aviation Department Director Mark VanLoh told the Kansas City Business Journal that American is required to pay for any necessary remediation.
