New ATC Systems Installed at U.S. Airports
A Raytheon-Lockheed Martin team installed terminal air traffic control systems at four major U.S. airports, the companies said Thursday. The new automated radar processing and display systems are a part of FAA’s Terminal Area Modernization Replacement (TAMR) program. They are located at four Terminal Radar Approach Control (TRACON) facilities and associated air traffic control towers located in Chicago, Denver, St. Louis, and Minneapolis-St. Paul. The companies said the new systems provide FAA flexibility to incorporate existing and future technology enhancements, such as multiple radar sensor displays and automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B).
