Lobiondo to Lead House Aviation Subcommittee
Rep. Frank Lobiondo (R-N.J.) has been named chairman of the House Aviation Subcommittee for the 113th Congress.
House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Bill Shuster made the appointment Tuesday, stating that he looks forward to working with Lobiondo to improve aviation infrastructure in the U.S.
The New Jersey lawmaker has been a member of the subcommittee since 1997, and said he will focus on improving the “safety and security” of the aviation network in the U.S.
“The aviation industry is a tremendous generator for our local and national economy, and directly employs millions of Americans while serving as a force multiplier across the nation. South Jersey intrinsically knows the critical role of the aviation sector with thousands of residents working at the FAA Technical Center and related security facilities on the Atlantic City International Airport campus,” said Lobiondo.
