GE Aviation, SeaCast Form Jet Engine Joint Venture
GE Aviation formed a 50/50 joint venture with Marysville, Wash.-based jet engine castings manufacturer SeaCast. The new joint venture will be called Montana Precision Products, with headquarters at the SeaCast facility in Butte, Mont.
"We are excited by the manufacturing expertise at the Butte operation, including critical skills in welding and fabrication," said Colleen Athans, vice president and general manager of the supply chain division at GE Aviation. "We are very fortunate to have a strong order book, and this joint venture will provide much needed additional capacity to meet our commitments."
Montana Precision Products will produce tubes, ducts and small structural castings for GE’s jet engines, GE said.
