Boeing Increases Production Rate, Delivers First 787 to Qatar
Boeing delivered the first 787 Dreamliner on order to Middle East carrier Qatar Airways, and announced an increase in the production rate of the 787.
Larry Loftis, Boeing 787 program vice president and general manager, said the company has doubled its production rate of the Dreamliner in one year, and is on track to achieve a rate of producing 10 Dreamliners per month by late 2013. The 787 team is now producing five Dreamliners per month.

Qatar Airways will be the first Middle East airline to operate the 787, the first of 30 Dreamliners it has on order.
"We are delighted to receive our first Dreamliner, an aircraft which we expect will establish new benchmarks for reliability and comfort, when combined with Qatar Airways' signature passenger experience," said Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways.
