Boeing Expands Singapore Flight Training

Boeing Flight Services has reached a new five-year pilot training agreement with Hainan Airlines to support the Chinese carrier's recent introduction of the 787 into its commercial fleet.

The agreement will extend Hainan's existing flight training for Boeing's Singapore and Shanghai training campuses on three Boeing models — the Next-Generation 737, 767 and 787. Hainan is the fourth largest airline in terms of fleet size in China, with a current fleet that includes 118 Boeing aircraft.

According to the 2013 Boeing Pilot and Technician Outlook, projected demand calls for 192,300 new commercial airline pilots and 215,300 new aircraft technicians in the Asia Pacific region over the next two decades.
