Baltimore Police Orders Four EC-120s
The Baltimore Police Department ordered four of American Eurocopter’s EC120s to replaces its current fleet of four aircraft as part of a fleet renewal program to begin next summer, Eurocopter said Monday.
“The Baltimore Police Department’s commitment to the EC120 showcases the appeal of the platform in the airborne law enforcement community,” said Treg Manning, Eurocopter’s vice president of sales.
The Baltimore Police uses the aircraft for patrol and support as well as Homeland Security Missions, according the manufacturer. Their current fleet of EC120s was purchased in 2000 and in July 2010.
The new aircraft includes advanced avionics and missions equipment, including thermal imager, searchlight, moving map, and video downlink systems.
