Another First Flight: AW149



AgustaWestland completed the initial flight of the AW149 medium twin helicopter Nov. 13 at its plant in Vergiate, Italy. Chief Test Pilot Giuseppe Lo Coco took the helicopter on a 20-minute test flight that focused on general handling and basic systems. AgustaWestland expects to fly a second prototype in 2010 with initial operational capability (IOC) projected in 2014.
