Airbus Prepares Final A350 XWB Test Aircraft

Airbus has begun the fuselage joining process of MSN5, the final member of its A350 XWB flight test fleet as the European manufacturer prepares to enter its new wide-body passenger jet into service next year.

MSN5 will be the second flight test aircraft to feature a passenger cabin and will be used primarily to perform cabin related flight tests with Airbus employees onboard as passengers. The aircraft will also perform route-proving flights to simulate airport operations for certification authorities.

The A350 XWB has more than 760 firm orders, and first delivery is on schedule to launch customer Qatar Airways for the second half of 2014.
