Airbus Inks Aircraft Maintenance Partnership with Thai Airways

Airbus announced a new agreement with Thai Airways International (THAI) to develop an EASA-certified aircraft maintenance-training center based in Bangkok.

The goal of the partnership is to integrate THAI’s aircraft maintenance instructors into the global Airbus maintenance training organization and enable EASA 147 approval in Thailand for type and basic maintenance training. The local maintenance-training center would initially provide maintenance type-training capabilities for the A320 and A330 family aircraft.

“The in-depth technical experience which THAI has accumulated with our full range of aircraft makes it the ideal partner for this initiative,” said Didier Lux, executive vice president of customer service at Airbus.

Airbus said the partnership will eventually enable THAI to offer maintenance training services to operators and MRO centers throughout the Asia-Pacific region. More
