Fleet Commonality Lowers Mx Costs
Airbus has delivered an A319 to Libya’s Afriqiyah Airways, which has been operating an all-Airbus fleet since 2001. Part of a 2006 order that includes 11 A320s and three A330-200s, the A319 features a 124-passenger configuration and has CFM56-5B engines. Afriqiyah CEO Captain Sabri says the fleet commonality “gives us the flexibility to interchange the aircraft according to our needs, and to optimize operations and maintenance.”
