Gulfstream’s G280 Receives EASA Type Certification

EASA has issued a type certification for the Gulfstream G280 super mid-sized business jet, certifying the airworthiness for registration in a European Union country.

The G280, a joint effort of Gulfstream and Israel Aerospace Industries, was awarded FAA type certification in August entered into service in November 2012. The aircraft has capacity for 10 passengers and the cockpit features the Rockwell Collins PlaneView 280 flight deck.

“Getting EASA certification is an important milestone for the G280,” said Larry Flynn, president, Gulfstream. “This aircraft is the most fuel-efficient and most comfortable in its class, and it offers unprecedented range for its size. It is the only super mid-sized business jet that can reliably fly nonstop from London to New York. That feature is very important to operators.” More
