Cessna on Wednesday said the first production unit of its Citation M2 business jet received its wings.

The first production M2 has reached the wing and fuselage mating stage, allowing the engineering team to move forward with the engine installation phase. With the joining of the fuselage and wings, the aircraft is also prepared to start functional testing on the avionics, hydraulics and flight controls.
“This is the moment when we can see an aircraft take shape, and we hope it is equally exciting for our customers who want to start flying their M2," said Dick Friesen, Cessna's value stream manager for the M2.

Cessna expects certification of the M2 later this year.
