Bombardier Reports Strong First Quarter, CSeries on Track for First Flight

By Woodrow Bellamy III

Bombardier reported $2.3 billion in revenues for its aerospace business during the first quarter of 2013, that's compared to $1.5 billion last year, the company
said Thursday.
The Canadian airframe manufacturer delivered a total of 53 aircraft during the first three months of the year, including 39 business jets, compared to just 37 total
deliveries during the first quarter of 2012.
“We had a good first quarter, with an overall increase in revenues of 25 percent,” said Pierre Beaudoin, president and CEO of Bombardier Inc. “Aerospace is showing increased deliveries, revenues and EBIT, and the CSeries tests are progressing well with first flight next month.”
The company has orders for the purchase of 338 CSeries aircraft, including 145 firm orders from nine customers in eight countries, and is targeting 300 firm orders by 2014.
