WAAS GPS Sensor for ADS-B Testing
FreeFlight Systems has been selected by the FAA as part of the official ADS-B testing in Alaska. The FreeFlight Systems 1203 will be joining its sister product, the 1201 WAAS GPS receiver, which has been successfully used in Alaska since 2003 as part of the FAA Capstone Program. The FreeFlight Systems 1203 is a light weight, robust remote mount WAAS GPS receiver certified to TSO-C145 requirements. The system provides position, velocity, and time and is ideal for LNAV WAAS applications such as ADS-B. Notable features include Fault Detection and Exclusion for navigational integrity and a twelve-channel receiver designed to be less susceptible to comm radio interference and jamming. The 1203 remote mount WAAS GPS with ARINC 429 capability is available off the shelf and is compatible with most transponders. FreeFlight Systems also offers the 1201 with RS-232 interface capability. Founded in 2001 through the acquisition of Trimble Navigation's Avionics Products Division, FreeFlight Systems is an international supplier of professional-grade avionics systems for commercial and military aircraft.
